(3 October 2025) As agreed in the last class, this is to inform all the students that the first partial test will take place on Monday 17 November 2025 and the second partial test of Tuesday 16 December. Both tests will take place in Room 5 at lectures hours.

For me to have an idea on how many students will take the test I already opened the system for students to book.

(6 October 2025) Unlike what I have announced on October 3, to have a larger room the first and second partial test will be held in Room 9 and NOT in Room 5.

(7 October 2025) Following a suggestion by the office, because the list of students who could take the exam is not completed, I removed from the system the possibility to book for the partial tests. It will be introduced again around the end of October.

(16 October 2025) In view of the first partial test, to be held on 17 November 2025, students can find below a mock first partial test and a problem set for you to work on. Some of the problems cannot be solved until we complete Chapter 2, of the De Grauwe textbook. In any case, the problems will be discussed in class, once Chapter 2 is completed.

( 26 October 2025) Recently Kenneth Rogoff, one of the world best known international macroeconomists, has published this book https://yalebooks.yale.edu/book/9780300275315/our-dollar-your-problem/

where he discussses the role and importance of the dollar, over the last century, and its possible future developments. Those of you interested in the importance of the exchange rates are recommended to read, since it is interesting and pleasant to go through.

(7 November 2025) This is to inform the students that it is now possible to book for the first partial test of Monday 17 at h4 pm Aula Chiostro

(8 November 2025) This is to inform the students that for the first partial test of 17 November h 4 pm, there are technical problems for booking.
Since I know from the system how many students can take the test, do not worry anymore about booking since I will consider that all the students who can possibly take the test will take it.

(21 November 2025) This is to informa the students that it is now possible to book for the second partial test of December 16, at h 4pm, in Aula Chiostro

(23 November 2025) Please find below the grades of the first partial test of Monetary Economics (basic) of 17 November 2025.
I also take this message to inform the students that two Erasmus students asked me whether we can have the second partial test on December 17 rather than on December 16. The reason is that on the December 16 they necessarily have to be in their home University.
Before finalising any change please let me know if this shift will cause problems to any of you. In case let me know before this coming wednesday 26th

(24 November 2025) This is to inform the Erasmus students that, due to their possible logistic difficulties, they have the option to take the second partial test either on 16 December 2025 or on 21 January 2026, together with the third and final part. If they decide to take it in January, the test for them will last two hours, rather than just one, since it will include second and third partial test.
Therefore the Erasmus students can book for the opted day. Those who book for the 21 January 2026 test are kindly required to specify in the notes that they are Erasmus and that they take also the second part.

(25 November 2025) This is to inform the students that on 1 December 2025 the School of Economics and Management will be closed and so there will be no lecture.

(3 December 2025) This is to confirm that today’s lecture will take place at 4pm, and NOT at 6pm, in Aula Chiostro and NOT in Room 5
